Working while you study
Student visa holders can usually work a limited number of hours per fortnight during study and full time in scheduled breaks. The limit is set by the Department of Home Affairs and changes from time to time, so we confirm the current rule at counselling.
After your studies
Eligible graduates can apply for a post-study work visa; its length depends on the qualification and where you studied.
Good to plan for
- Most students must hold Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) for the whole visa.
- Students under 18 need an approved guardianship arrangement, which we can help set up.
- A Genuine Temporary Entrant (GTE) statement is assessed, so we prepare you for it.
